You agree to the terms of service below, and the Terms of Use for Substack, the technology provider.
Terms & Conditions
By using or subscribing to this Substack (including reading articles, engaging in comments, or utilizing any free or paid content), you agree to the following terms:
1. Disclaimer of Advice
Not Professional Advice: The content provided on this Substack (including all articles, newsletters, guides, and comments) offers general advice, opinions, and suggestions regarding decluttering, organization, and home life. It is not a substitute for professional, legal, medical, financial, or specific home repair/safety advice.
Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for how you choose to use the information and advice provided here. Always use common sense, proper safety precautions, and your own judgment when working in your home. We are not responsible for any damage, injury, or loss resulting from your use of this information.
2. Product Recommendations
Non-Affiliated Links: Any links to products, brands, or services are provided strictly as a convenience or suggestion based on the author’s personal use, research, or recommendations from trusted sources.
No Commercial Relationship: We do not use affiliate links, and we receive no compensation (monetary or otherwise) from the companies or brands linked. You assume all responsibility for any purchase you make based on our recommendations.
3. Subscription & Payment Policy
Auto-Renewal: Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or annually, as chosen by you) and will automatically renew unless you cancel your subscription before the next billing date.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Substack account settings. Cancellation will stop future recurring charges, but you will retain access to the paid content until the end of the current billing cycle.
No Refunds: Generally, all subscription fees are non-refundable. We do not offer refunds or credits for partially used periods, unused content, or if you change your mind.
4. Intellectual Property (Copyright)
Our Content: All content, including text, images, graphics, and logos, is the property of this Substack’s author and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
Limited Use: You may share links to our articles and short excerpts (with proper credit and a link back to the original source), but you may not reproduce, sell, or commercially exploit large portions or the entirety of the content without our express written permission.
5. Community Guidelines
Respectful Engagement: We encourage constructive discussion, but please be respectful and courteous in all comments and interactions.
Prohibited Content: You agree not to post any content that is abusive, defamatory, harassing, obscene, illegal, or infringes on the rights of others. We reserve the right to remove any comments or block users who violate these guidelines.
6. Use of AI Tools
Transparency About AI: Sorted State uses artificial intelligence tools (such as large language models) to assist with research, content planning, brainstorming, and occasional image creation. AI may be used in the preparation of newsletter content, digital products, and educational materials.
Human Editorial Control: All content published by Sorted State is reviewed, edited, and approved by Kate Vanness-Kandoth. I have final say on every piece of content that goes out under this name. AI is a tool in my process, not the author.
Disclosure Practices: When AI tools play a meaningful role in creating content, I do my best to explicitly call that out within the relevant article or material. My goal is to be straightforward about how content is made.
Personal Voice and Authenticity: All personal examples, anecdotes, and stories shared in this newsletter are drawn from my own life or from real client case studies (with details changed to protect privacy). The voice, perspective, and opinions expressed are mine.
